Perhaps it was because she barely talked and went selectively mute since she was 12 years old, Maddie is quite expressive using her facial expression. It’s like she wore her heart on her sleeve. Despite that, she can be somehow reserved, as it’s rare for people to know what’s on her mind. For example, people can tell when she’s upset, but most of the time they wouldn’t know about what caused it.But overall, Maddie has a soft personality and even found it hard to reject helping others. She had her own trauma about that and grew to be someone who didn’t want others to feel the same, thus she was always ready to help anyone.

Her Story

Her mother died when she was barely 1 year old, and her father was an abuser. Yet since he’s her only family left, Maddie stuck with him for a long time. She suffered from abusive treatment from her father, and when she was 10 years old, her father remarried.Instead of getting better, everything went downhill instead. Her stepmother also joined in abusing her, along with her step-siblings, resulting in her going on selective mute at age 12. Her step-brother even sexually assaulted her from time to time, while her parents turned blind eyes.At age 18 years old, Maddie finally ran away from home. She quit school and moved from place to place, working in any job she could get that she could do with her selective mute trait. Her life turned better when a magazine editor noticed her talent in writing.Now, she’s a successful writer, specializing in fictional stories about mysteries and serial killers, as well as an owner of Aubade, a flower shop.
